day 7

I do not think the United States is falling like the Roman Empire did. the United States has a strong military supported by a good political core. Economically we are very stable. we have created multiple allies with other countries to help us in war and we have also managed to expand our businesses around the world, which keep are economy up. we also have spread our culture around the world and established the name for ourselves the land of freedom. I feel as though America is not as harsh and controlling as Rome was which gives us a advantage. America does suffer from things like lack of resources and lack of jobs and we suffer from a poverty problem. but other then that America has established themselves as a country that will stay on top for a very long time.

Today was the second day of western civ and today we watched a video on Jared diamond. Jared diamond is a author, explorer, professor at UCLA. But his favorite thing to do is watch birds. He’s been to lots of places but as of right now we are watching a video of him in papa new Guinaa in a rainforest. Theses people of new guinaa have lived there for 40,000 years which is longer then people have lived in North America. 13,000 years ago everyone lived a hunt and gather type of lifestyle. Today was the first day of western civilization and today we got a feel for the class. We talked about how the class will be and also the rules of the class. We learned to blogs hold a lot of points and doing them is very crucial if you want to get a good grade. We got our seats and we learned each other’s name and learned that we will be learning about time and lots of old civilization and how they were built and destroyed. To make the world we have now. I feel like In this class that we should do lots of more presentations so that we can build up relationship and it will make the class a lot more fun. I also feel that we should do more watching of videos because note taking is a lot easier way to learn.
