Today was our review day for our test tomorrow and we looked over some new notes. There was a leader who let the broke/middle class people have a voice in the government. The agora was the city hall and citizens would go there to argue about political things and share there opinion. They had lots of fake gods who in stories they had interacting with real humans. 2 very know God’s are Zeus the god of thunder and Athena the god of war. Athena was she’s daughter but she wasn’t born by a women. Stories say she came out his head fully grown and dressed in armor and they named Athens after her. The trireme was the worlds fastest ship tower by 170 men on 3 levels, it was agile and fast, and could be used as a battering ram.

I do not think the United States is falling like the Roman Empire did. the United States has a strong military supported by a good political core. Economically we are very stable. we have created multiple allies with other countries to help us in war and we have also managed to expand our businesses around the world, which keep are economy up. we also have spread our culture around the world and established the name for ourselves the land of freedom. I feel as though America is not as harsh and controlling as Rome was which gives us a advantage. America does suffer from things like lack of resources and lack of jobs and we suffer from a poverty problem. but other then that America has established themselves as a country that will stay on top for a very long time.

1) Greco - Roman culture-  The mixing of elements of Greek, Hellenistic and Roman culture produced a new culture Pompeii- Roman town destroyed by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius Virgil- wrote Aeneid-legend of Aeneus; poet Tacitus- historian-presented facts accurately, wrote about good and bad of imperial Rome aqueduct- bring water into cities and towns 2) I think the law would be the best accomplishment because it set up a lot of governments today by giving people the same set of laws as everyone else and giving the people the say.  3) Greco-Roman culture is t he mixing of elements of  Greek, Hellenistic, and Roman cultures. 4)  The Greeks were known for beautiful but  idealized sculpture; Roman sculptors created more realistic works. 5)  It forms the basis for Western languages  such as French, Spanish, Portuguese,  Italian, and Romanian; more than half of  English words have a basis in Latin.

First test

Today in western civilization we took our very first test of the course. It was on guns drugs and steel the things We’ve been watching videos and learning about. The test was 100 points but had a good amount of questions on it. All the questions were things we had already learned and I feel as though I did very good on it. On the back we had to know 8 animals and I only memorized 7 because I thought we only had to know 7 but I ended up figuring out 8 animals. I named all the animals except for yak and reindeers. I studied before the test so I felt confident going in the test I feel like I did good. I also had time to start on some math homework and get that finished up. We had about 30 minutes after the test to do something productive so I started working on math and some English.
