Day 2 on Jared diamond

Today in western civilization we learned more about papa new guinaa and we also started talking about middle eastern countries. 11,500 years ago Draa was a community that grew there own crops. Countries like these were lucky because they already had the right crops that would help them survive there already. There was also plant domestication which is taking plants that lived in a wild environment and being able to grow them properly. China grew rice, north and South America grew corn, squash, and beans. Africa grew sorghum, millet, and yams. Animal domestication is being able to take wild animals and taming them so you can use them too your advantage. We also started talking about the  14 animals that are considered not wild and can be used because they have been domesticated.

First quiz

tofay was the third day of western civ and we got surprised with a pop quiz, we reviewed for a little then took the quiz. At first I thought it would be very hard and I would not do good but when we saw the question it was pretty easy so I ended up getting a 100% on it. There was also a shadow today and she came from trinity and she Does theatre so John carroll would be a great school for her because we are well know for our plays. After we took the quiz a weird conversation came up about diseases.

Day 1 on Jared diamond

Today was the second day of western civ and today we watched a video on Jared diamond. Jared diamond is a author, explorer, professor at UCLA. But his favorite thing to do is watch birds. He’s been to lots of places but as of right now we are watching a video of him in papa new Guinaa in a rainforest. Theses people of new guinaa have lived there for 40,000 years which is longer then people have lived in North America. 13,000 years ago everyone lived a hunt and gather type of lifestyle. And 13,000 years later today they still live that same type of way. Jared and a friend named yahoo that asked a very important question. He asked “why you white men have so much cargo and ya new guinaa so little”  this is soemthing that Jared took as a important question because at first he didn’t know how to answer but as time went on the answer became invisible.

First blog

Today was the first day of western civilization and today we got a feel for the class. We talked about how the class will be and also the rules of the class. We learned to blogs hold a lot of points and doing them is very crucial if you want to get a good grade. We got our seats and we learned each other’s name and learned that we will be learning about time and lots of old civilization and how they were built and destroyed. To make the world we have now. I feel like In this class that we should do lots of more presentations so that we can build up relationship and it will make the class a lot more fun. I also feel that we should do more watching of videos because note taking is a lot easier way to learn.
